The first step we will perform with you is to learn your company’s goals. We need to know if you are a service based company, if you sell physical or digital products, or if your company has other goals. These goals will help us perform market research.
Before we build your website we must first know your brand. Your brand is what makes you you to your customers/clients and your potential customers/clients. It’s how you want to be perceived by them. Therefore it is important when someone visits your website that they see and feel the emotions of your brand. They know who you are and what your company offers.
In the process of defining your brand it is important that we know who your competition is. Most likely you’ve already done some of this research. In fact this research may have given you the idea to start your company. Knowing your competition, especially the ones who have been successful will provide us with important information. For example it will help us know what type of brands succeed in your market. It will also help us know how we can differentiate you from your competition.
The whole process of design and development should center around your website’s goals. Everything that we design, every page that we create should lead your potentials clients/customers to the goals of your website. So in this process we will discuss with you what you want your clients to do when they visit your website. Buy Products? If so which products are you biggest money makers? Contact you for a service? If so what services bring you the greatest revenue? Sign up for a newsletter or follow your blog? Call you? As you can see there are lots of potential goals that a website can have. So at this point in the process we will define your goals. We will then reference and focus on these goals as we design./p>
After setting the goals of your site we will then determine how we will accomplish those goals. We will accomplish these larger goals by creating sub-goals. These sub-goals will often start on one page and lead the your users to accomplishing one of your main goals on another page. It is our goal in the design process to make your users want to take the “next step” in the process that leads them to the final goal. So the question that we will answer is, “Where do we want your users to start when accomplishing each goal”? Most users will naturally start off at your home page. However, with good marketing and SEO we will have them start on an optimized landing page. Landing pages are pages that visitors to arrive at when they come to your site. So, with your sub-goals and main goals in mind we will define the pages that your website should have. These pages will be part of your pages to be designed and a focus in your SEO and marketing process.
Now that we have your goals and pages defined we can now start the wireframes portion of the website design process. Wireframes are simple outlines of your website pages layouts. They determine the content and structure of your content.
Once we’ve completed the wireframes we will then review them with you for your approval. Once approved we can begin the graphic design process. We start adding colors, content, and images to your wireframes so that you know exactly what your website will look like once coded.
The first page that we will design is the home page. Most often we only create 1 design for the home page and other pages. We then modify the design according to our client’s desires. However, sometimes we have clients who want to see 2 totally different layouts. In the case that you do want more than one design done from the start we can do that for you.
Once the home page designs are done we will review these with you.
The final step in the design process is UX (User Experience) testing. This process can be performed after you’ve approved the design. However, UX testing feedback can provide important insight into changes that are helpful in improving user’s experience on your site.
Once your are satisfied with your home page design and we have optimized the page based on UX testing then we can begin building your website.
While we are developing the home page of your website we will have our designers design the secondary pages of your site. We will then have you sign off on each page as each design is completed.
Once secondary pages UX testing and approval have been completed then we will begin building all pages for your site.
